Many people have asked me if I’m nervous about graduation. The truth is I honestly do not know what I am feeling. As the year gets closer to the end, I have mixed feelings on how my life is going to be after high school. I feel nervous of course just because I still have a lot of work due with little time to finish. Not only that, I’m anxious to know if I am going to be accepted to my college. I might not have one of the best GPAs or be the brightest student from my class, I am however proud of making it this far. This school year has been full of ups and downs, left and rights, but only one part of it hasn’t changed. It is the way my mom has told me that she is proud of everything I have accomplished and the future I am planning to have.
The plans I have for next year are pretty much in a chronological order. After high school I plan to attend either the Porterville College or the College of the Sequoias. I only plan to attend those colleges for my general education and then I would like to transfer to either Fresno State or California State University of Long Beach. There are many other colleges, however, I have many reasons as to why I chose these two. Most of it is because I have family living close to both of these colleges. The reason as to why I want to attend these colleges are for their radiation therapy programs. After high school I plan to be a radiation therapist in order to help cancer patients live a longer life. Attending a community college first is a faster and more economic way to attend my general education in order to be able to transfer to bigger and better colleges with better programs. If all goes well in about three to four years I could graduate from an accredited radiation therapy program and start my career.
Even though I have most of my future I do still have a lot of work to do. Looking at all the work that I need to finish is a scary thought. The good part of it is that I only need 5 more classes to finish. Two of these five classes are pretty easy for me to finish them. Those classes are auto 1 where I only need the last two projects and the other is french where the lessons are online and I could finish them fast. The other three classes involve English 12, Government, and Algebra 2. It is true that some of the classes that I have are from past years. However, this year has hit me really hard and I have changed the way I would manage everything. I am grateful for all the opportunities that my teachers have gave me in order to help me finish my classes. Looking back at the start of my senior year it has been a really crazy ride. Everything that has happened this year I know has been for the best. I am happy that my high school career is coming to an end and that I am close to start my future with a bright start. I am looking forward to graduation and everything that lies ahead. I want to be able to make my parents and all my family proud of me by being successful in life and finish strong.
